Is plug-in solar legal in New Hampshire?

Not yet, but it is signed. N.H. RSA 362-A:1-a, IV-a; 362-A:10; 374:1-b; 155-A:16 (2026 N.H. Laws ch. 262) takes effect January 1, 2027. Until then your utility's rules for small customer generators apply, so ask before you plug in. From that date, the law allows one plug-in system up to 1,200 W of AC inverter output, plugged into an ordinary outlet. One system per metered customer. It must meet the applicable building code and certification requirements.

Our kitsUnresolved system certification needs clarification

Before you buy for New Hampshire: The law calls for certification to standards for distributed energy resources and plug-in solar generation systems. We have not established that our kit meets that system requirement; an inverter listing alone does not settle it. Read the cite and decide with that in front of you.
