Our biggest kit: twice the panel of the 200 on the same inverter, same afternoon setup. Pick this one if your home draws power all day.

Saves $38–$130 a year, depending on the state you are in. Your state, your rate →

A panel hanging upright on a south-facing railing, unshaded, at your state's average power rate (NREL and EIA data).

Grid-connected solar offsets electricity while the sun shines. It does not supply backup power during an outage.

Hanging on a south-facing railing, the 400 makes 290 to 460 kWh a year depending on your state. See what it saves where you live.

Choose the kit for your space.

Start with the sunny space you have: the difference is one panel or two. The 400 W kit's extra $200 buys a second 200 W DC panel, which needs its own space. Both kits share the 391 W AC inverter, so the output limit is the same.

Panel wattage is the DC rating; inverter output is AC. Actual generation depends on sunlight, orientation and shade. Estimate savings for your home.

Find your sunny spot

A railing, deck, patio, fence or sunny wall. Measure space for each panel, check for shade and plan a secure mounting position near a suitable outdoor GFCI outlet. No extension cord or power strip.

From box to daytime power

  1. Plan your setup

Choose a sunny position. Before mounting, complete any required utility notification, approvals and property permissions.

  2. Mount and connect

Follow the quick-start guide to secure the panels and connect the inverter and cord.

  3. Plug in

Once the required local steps are complete, connect to the suitable outlet and see generation in the Hoymiles app. The guide includes utility notification text where needed.

Already have panels? The APsystems EZ1-LV inverter on its own takes up to two; check your panels first. It needs its own circuit.
